Exercise, Nutrition, and Motivation for Health
(last update 6/9/10)
Browse
this site for practical approaches to good health, including strength training, aerobics,
nutrition, bone health, disease prevention, and healthy aging. I am now writing
about bereavement and end-of-life issues. Follow the End of Life link
in the index column at the left for
these articles or check out What's New!
In my twenties, I married, nurtured my growing family, practiced yoga, and became a vegetarian and organic gardener. In my thirties, I became a nutrition and preventive health care counselor. In my forties, I studied natural approaches to menopause. In my fifties, I transformed my body with strength training and became a Certified Personal Trainer. In my early sixties, I lectured and wrote about strength training, bone health, nutrition, and healthy aging. Now, in my mid sixties, I am dealing with the death of my husband and am writing about love and loss. You'll find some of my essays by following the link to End of Life. I still work with private clients to design exercise and nutrition programs with a focus on bone health. My most recent published articles discuss exercise, nutrition, and complementary support during cancer therapy. My article, "Designing Exercise Programs to Lower Fracture Risk in Women," appeared in the February 2006 edition of the Strength and Conditioning Journal.
This
is your body,
Your greatest gift,
Pregnant with wisdom you do not hear,
Grief you thought was forgotten,
And joy you have never known.
